New: CVS to Limit Purchase of Prepaid Cards

October 19, 2014 by James Larounis 6 Comments

Get award booking help and personalized travel assistance for as little as $1 a month!

CVS is now limiting the purchase of prepaid products in-store to $2,000 or less per day, in a new memo sent by a corporate official at CVS.

CVS

Here’s the summary of what you need to know.

  • The memo appears to be real – it’s issued by Cary Chaney, who was the same individual to send out the Vanilla Reloads memo back in April of this year.
  • The limit on the purchase of prepaid card transactions begins Oct. 27. This includes gift cards, and purchases will be limited to $2,000 per day.
  • Registers will be hard coded to not allow a purchase over $2000.
  • An ID will be required for all purchases over $300.

So, if you purchase lots of gift cards or reload able debit products from CVS, keep these new limits in mind when they take affect October 27.

SELECT transforms any existing credit or debit card into a black card that unlocks VIP perks, pricing, and experiences at thousands of premier destinations around the world.

it doesnt really matter anymore, as if cvs didnt notice their sales dropped rock bottom after they killed VR, followed by WM blocked OV reload. cvs cashiers must have scratch their heads to what happen all those people buying gc lately.
