Is 2014 the deadliest year for flights? Not even close, according to CNN. This is an interesting article, in light of the recent events we’ve seen, and the several air crashes, and losses of life. While 2014 certainly isn’t even close to being the deadliest year on record, it certainly can be a scary thought for some, and I know many of us are re-thinking air travel.
For me, not so much. As my friend Tommy Danielsen said on Facebook, “I understand folks are worried after what looks like another plane down in Algerie. Food for thought: There are approximately 98.000 scheduled commercial flights every single day, or almost 36 million every year carrying billions of passengers. Every single day, 29 people get killed in car accidents in the United States alone or over 10.000 every year. I booked 6 plane tickets today and I’m not concerned at all. You shouldn’t be either.”
What do you think? Have your air travel plans changed for this year, or future years?
