I’m a huge fan of Uber, and it’s a service I highly promote because I love it so much.

For those not familiar, Uber is a private car service in and around major US cities. Think of it like a taxi that’s easier to use, safer, and cheaper. The drivers are background checked and the vehicles inspected, so it’s a safe program to say the least. Fares run roughly 25% cheaper than taxis, so just on that one front alone, it’s worth a try for those that haven’t used it.

Here are the main reasons I love the service so much:

• You can request an Uber car on your phone using the Uber app. The app will display an estimate fare and car location.
• You can pay for the service without ever exchanging money with the driver. You input your credit card info into the app, and Uber charges your card and pays the driver. Also, tip is included.
• Your driver can’t stiff you for payment, or take you on a roundabout way. Uber tracks your route, and protects you.
• If you’re traveling with multiple people, Uber can split your payment amongst the other riders, which is great for times when you are riding with friends, but no one wants to foot the entire bill.
