Delta Round-the-world awards will no longer be available after January 1, 2015. That’s right – another devaluation to the Delta SkyMiles program.
This change was NOT announced today by Delta, but can be found “hidden” in their website.
Delta Round-the-world awards cost 180,000 in economy and 280,000 in business class. Delta does not allow First Class travel, and all inventory space must be in the saver category.
To book an award before January call 800-323-2323 and ask to be transferred to the Round-the-World desk (open from 7 AM to 11 PM EST).
Yet another blow to the Delta program. Luckily, I don’t have many SkyMiles left to burn, and wasn’t planning any awards of this nature soon.
Are any of you affected by this change?

How do you plan on burning the remainder of your Delta miles? I burned all of my NWA miles before the merger with DL.
I only have 25K so I’ll just use them on a domestic ticket I guess.
