Thanks to my friend Adam for sharing this with me. Here’s a 747 – one of the largest passenger aircrafts – doing a rejected takeoff, one of the mandatory tests it needs to pass in order to be able to fly. Here, the plane speeds up to takeoff speed and suddenly slams on the brakes to avoid taking off – usually because of some sort of emergency or because the pilot sees something in the path of the plane on the runway. I hope this never happens when I fly, but it’s interesting to watch it from the comfort of my laptop. 🙂
