For my close family and friends, I’ve been “bragging” of my crazy Thanksgiving week trip, and the airline routings behind it. In the interest of your amusement, I thought I would share what I have planned for this now hellish of a week. Previously I wrote a post on the reasons to fly west to go east; boy, does this apply here!
So, let’s start from the beginning, shall we?
Saturday November 22
- Washington Reagan Airport (DCA) to John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK)
 - John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK) to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)
 - Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to London Heathrow (LHR) [Overnight Red-Eye Flight]

Sunday November 23
- London Heathrow (LHR) to Amsterdam Schipol Airport (AMS)

Thursday November 27
- Amsterdam Schipol Airport (AMS) to London Heathrow (LHR)
 - London Heathrow (LHR) to Philadelphia International Airport (PHL)

Friday November 28
- Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)

Saturday November 29
- Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK) [Overnight Red-Eye Flight]

Sunday November 30
- John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK) to Washington Reagan Airport (DCA)

Total miles? Over 17,200. Combine that with a class of service bonus for the LAX-LHR-AMS-PHL-LAX segments, and my AAdvantage elite status bonus, and this trip will come out to more than 40,000 of redeemable miles!
Do you have any crazy trips planned for Thanksgiving?
