Walking into any airport, it’s hard to go a few minutes without hearing that female voice on the intercom telling you to watch your step on the escalator, which gate the aircraft is now at, or even a simply reminder to reaffirm what airport you’re at.
There’s a real person behind that voice, and her name is Carolyn Hopkins. From her small home office in Maine, she produces some of those most iconic sounds in travel; sounds, you sometimes want to just tune out because they’re so repetitive.
