Good post for today. Much changing 1JAN2015. BTW you get an award hold for a few hours with this trick: http://deltapoints.boardingarea.com/2014/03/04/delta-award-ticket-hold-trick-now-working-much-longer-almost-24hrs/

Fuel surcharges are also levied ex-Europe.

You can get Delta agents to hold. Tell them at the top of the call that you need to put it on hold (especailly if you need to transfer points in). If they say no, HUCA. You can also get the phone booking fee waived by saying you tried to book it online and got an error, or it has a stopover, or uses an airline that won’t show online.

You’re saying that you cannot book an award ticket in First, anywhere, ever, at all? I find that hard to believe (and very distressing, if accurate)?
