I’m traveling to Amsterdam in a week, and really want to enjoy some sort of concert or cultural event while I’m there.
When I tried to scour the internet, I got lost amongst several different websites claiming to show all of events going on during the dates I would be over there. Wanting to see a consolidated list, I remembered that my American Express Platinum Card includes a concierge service where you can ask them to research a different task, and they’ll get back to you within a certain amount of time.
Within a few hours, I received a reply back saying that they were researching my request. Normally, I hear back within 24 hours, so it’s a pretty expeditious service. The Platinum card has an annual fee of $550, so this premium level concierge service does have high standards – though, it’s worth noting, they are managed by a third party service.
Prior to the specified deadline of November 12, I received a reply back listing the various concerts and performances available.
It’s a concise 3 page document they sent me, which will really come in handy when I’m overt there. For events that require advanced tickets, they’ll even purchase them for me (with my authorization), and then have the tickets either delivered to me at home prior to departure, or over in Amsterdam at my hotel.
I’ve used the concierge service several times, and have rarely been disappointed – they can come in handy for last minute dinner reservations, tickets to shows, and even maps and directions for public transportation or how to get to your hotel upon arrival.
Have you used the American Express Concierge before?
