The Chase Sapphire Preferred – one of the most popular travel credit cards – is increasing it’s minimum spending, according to a representative I spoke with at Chase today. The new minimum spending requirement will take effect sometime on Monday November 17.
The current minimum spending on the card to receive 40,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards Points is $3,000. On Monday, that number will rise to $4,000, so if you were thinking about applying for this card, now might me the best time to do so, since you’ll have to complete less of a spending requirement to receive the bonus points.
As a reminder, the Chase Sapphire Preferred includes:
- 2x the points on dining and travel
- No foreign transaction fees
- Primary rental car insurance
- 1:1 transfer partners for Chase Ultimate Rewards
Apply for this card before Monday, if you want to stick at the $3,000 minimum spending level to receive 40,000 Ultimate Rewards Points.
