Beginning November 18, American Airlines has announced a new, updated meal service to First Class passengers in an email sent out to AAdvantage members.
What’s in store?
More meals on more flights
We’ll offer you a full meal with your choice of entrée on all flights approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes or longer
My thoughts: LOVE IT! I hated when American extended the amount of flight time needed to have a meal service. American was always generous with meal offerings, and I’m glad to see they understand customer’s concerns.
Warm mixed nuts – an American favorite
We’ll reintroduce warm mixed nuts on all flights longer than approximately 2 hours
My thoughts: There’s something classy about having warm nuts with your before dinner drink. That and I absolutely love pistachios…
Upgraded Lite Bites basket
We’ll improve our Lite Bites basket on flights less than approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes to include a better selection of sandwiches, fresh fruit, breakfast breads, snacks and more
My thoughts: The previous Lite Bites sandwiches were something that I would probably have received in elementary school and were essentially inedible. I hope they’ll be offering larger sandwiches, with more “real” flavorings.
Signature made‑to‑order sundaes
We’ll bring back our made-to-order sundaes for dessert on flights approximately 4 hours and 30 minutes or longer
My thoughts: Sure, the calorie content isn’t in my favor here, but everything else is… 🙂
Also…breakfast service will be extended from ending at 9:00am, to now ending at 9:45am.
Here is the email that was sent out:
Overal, I’m REALLy happy of these revised offerings, and it is slowly brining back American into the playing field. Sure, I wish things were back the way they used to be, but for now, considering they have already made changes, I’m glad to see they are listening to customer feedback and going back to their old ways.
