US Airways has announced the buy-up and boost options for 2015 elite status. Recently, American Airlines announced what the combined 2015 AAdvantage program will look like, and soon, US Airways elite status will merge into the new system.
If you are short of the next US Airways elite tier, you can boost whereby you buy the remaining elite qualifying miles to reach the required threshold.
If you will not be able to meet the qualifications for your current elite status level, you can renew whereby you pay a designate fee to keep that status for another year.
Here’s an important note regarding Platinum Preferred status: In the second quarter of 2015, we’ll bring Dividend Miles into the AAdvantage Program. The AAdvantage program offers three Preferred status levels – Executive Platinum, Platinum and Gold. In preparation for the move to three Preferred status levels, you will not see an offer for Platinum Preferred status this year. Of course, customers who qualify for Platinum Preferred status on their own, will retain that status until the programs combine, at which time they will be mapped to AAdvantage Platinum status.

You can continue to qualify for Preferred status for the 2015 membership year through December 31, 2014. If you purchase now, a refund will not be offered if you should qualify on your own. Before making a decision to purchase, please consider whether or not additional travel before year-end could result in you earning a higher status.

No. Refunds will not be offered. If you have a Dividend Miles account, you can expect that your Preferred-qualifying activity from both programs will be combined by mid-2015, and you will achieve the resulting AAdvantage Preferred status membership at that time. If you purchase an Preferred status through this program now, a refund will not be offered at the time your AAdvantage and Dividend Miles accounts are combined. Before you purchase, please consider the impact of any Dividend Miles activity you may have on your overall Preferred status.

If I purchase Preferred status in the Dividend Miles program now, what will happen when Dividend Miles is combined with the AAdvantage Program?
When Dividend Miles is combined with the AAdvantage program in the second quarter of 2015, customers who purchased status will receive the equivalent status in the AAdvantage Program.
