Delta has devalued their partner earning structure! The changes are another major blow to the SkyMiles program, and the Delta experience.
You’ll see that Delta has updated their partner earning page to reflect a “see partner page” under the Base Miles earned column.
Let’s take a look at Air France, one of the most popular SkyTeam partners, earning percentages. Deep discount tickets used to earn a 100% bonus, while now, they’ll earn only up to 75%, all depending on the price of the ticket (in increments of 25%, then 50%, then 75%). You’ll earn more miles, on full-fare J (Business) tickets, now, though. This previously was a 150% bonus, while now it will be 175%.
Unfortunately, KLM follows a similar structure. Actually, it’s exactly the same.
Aeroflot has devalued too!
This is a major blow to the SkyMiles program:
- If you plan on flying a Delta partner airline, you’ll earn less base miles to qualify for Delta elite status.
You can search more of the devaluations here on Delta’s website.

A little editing? Seems if you’re going to blog you should know how to correctly spell the word “loses”.

Well I didn’t know whether to take this blog seriously or not, but now I know I was right to have doubts.
“Looses”… Wow

And I here I was hoping Delta’s bonuses really were looser…

MQM is different from Base Miles Earned, isn’t it? MQM remains a full 100%. But you said “If you plan on flying a Delta partner airline, you’ll earn less base miles to qualify for Delta elite status.” I believe base miles don’t impact MQM, which determine elite status. Who’s right?
