Guest Review: Lufthansa Business Class, MUC-DEL

I was approached by one of my readers, Rajesh, who was interested in writing a guest trip report for the blog. Always interested in hearing different takes on airline products and experiences, I asked him to send me some reviews for posting. For full disclosure, no one was compensated with these posts, and they are purely for your entertainment purposes only.

Lufthansa MUC-DEL

A330-300

(New) Business Class

Schedule 7 hours 40 Minutes

Before booking this flight I made sure the equipment had Lufthansa’s new business class (http://www.lufthansa.com/de/en/Business-Class-Product). A330-300 in and out of MUC should have all been updated with fully lay flat versus angled.

The lounge was large but very full. When we arrived there was nowhere to sit and the shower had a 45 minute wait. There must have been a lot of flights leaving because when we left the lounge was empty.

Although first class opened up the week of departure I was not willing to use an extra 80K points per ticket one way!!! When I downgraded from first to business I got the old rate of 60K miles but when I tried to go back to first I was getting the new rate of 140K one way. I guess had I waited for first to open up I could have changed my Thai first class to Lufthansa first without adding any miles to my original 80K mile ticket.

The food was very good…miles above United. We were one of the first off the plane as Business and First class were given priority and there was a Business class immigration line. I was surprised how quick we were out of the airport and on our way to the ITC Maurya- Sheraton Luxury Collection.

I have never had good food in Lufthansa business, in the many times I’ve flown them. You must have gotten them on a good day, or perhaps the menu on the flight to Delhi is particularly tasty? I’ve only flown the routes to the US, where United has better food, and more healthy too. Lufthansa business can’t compare to Austrian, Alitalia or Brussels airlines — I think because they save their best for First Class.

It was a guest report from a reader, but do to some logistical issues, I decided not to continue this one. Some issues with the pictures uploading and such. If you have any question about the product and such, let me know!
