Airlines have a history of public relations fails, such as this time when United replied to a reporter with a form letter.
Well, looks like we can add (or, maybe re-add) Ryanair to the list.
Comedian Ryan Hand decided to Tweet Ryanair, just to see their response:
What a disgrace, there’s a woman crying at the @Ryanair check in desk who’s been made to pay more for emotional baggage
Two minutes later, he receives a reply from Ryanair:
@RyanHand_ Hi Ryan, which airport is this happening at? IK
After being called out on their mistake, Ryanair responded by saying this:
We apologize for technical difficulties with our sarcasm detector today.
USA Today has a video of the story, which summarizes up the drama.
Like the video, I agree the one positive takeaway is the fact that Ryanair responded back so quickly! I can’t think of any US Airline that has that kind of speed…
Well, don’t bring your emotional baggage to Ryanair. You’ll be charged extra. Oh, and don’t plan on using the restroom on the airplane too… 😉
