I just received an email from Barclaycard notifying me of a fantastic change on the U.S. Airways Dividend Miles MasterCard – you’ll no longer pay foreign transaction fees abroad. This is a great change for this card, but it will be short lived as Citi becomes the sole bank to issue the credit card on behalf of the new American Airlines into next year. I have the US Airways credit card, and, until it disappears, find it to be valuable for mileage accumulation.
Here’s the email they sent me:
Now you can enjoy purchases with no foreign transaction fees when you use your US Airways Dividend Miles® MasterCard® in Dublin, Paris, or Shanghai. In fact, no matter where you shop abroad, you’ll enjoy this new benefit.
And when you’re en route, don’t forget to take advantage of 25% in-flight savings on food, beverages, and headset purchases on US Airways and American Airlines operated flights.¹ This savings will appear as a credit on your statement.
The US Airways credit card link found in this post is NOT an affiliate link, and will take you to the direct application with Barclaycard.
