WilliamPaid is a service that allows rent payments to a landlord via credit card. With the service, the credit card processing fee is tacked onto the rent payment, so you’re always paying for the points you would earn on the card. However, it is an easy way to meet minimum spending requirements in a short timeframe, so long as you’re willing to “eat the fee” for what it costs to process the transaction.
WilliamPaid helps build credit history by reporting to the credit bureaus, and also allows split payments amongst several roommates, which is convenient for student housing, etc.
As of March 5, 2015, WilliamPaid will be shutting down. They will accept no new customers as of today, unfortunately.
Here’s the email they sent me:
I used this service when I needed to meet minimum spending requirements on new cards, even with the processing fee, since it provides a level of convenience I’m willing to pay for. While this service certainly did come at a cost, and I know many folks did not use it for that reason, I’m sad to see them go, since they provided an easy way to charge rent payments directly to a credit card.

This is very unfortunate. I have used their service from the beginning and receiving such a short notice is inconvenient. I spent the last few hours looking up other options and am also looking for something simple that can also integrate the property management tracking I have been putting off getting. After calling a few different companies I think I will be going with simplifyem.com. It looks like they offer a similar online rent payment system, but also let you manage the you properties income and expenses and owner balances as well. Goodluck everyone…

Amanda here. I work at SimplifyEm and we offer a standalone pay rent service for landlords and property managers. We are offering WilliamPaid users a free JumpStart program to easily switch the service with minimal impact to their tenants. You can try it at http://www.simplifyem.com/pay-rent
