Meal Review:
American Eagle serves a “legacy” American Airlines onboard meal service, which is something that’s particularly interesting (and welcome) to me. Their First Class product is in a 1×2 seating configuration.
Route: Chicago, IL to Baltimore, MD
Aircraft: ERJ-175
Meal Window: Breakfast
Meal: Fruit, granola and yogurt continental breakfast (no pre-order option available, however there was also a choice of fruit and cereal)
My short hop from Chicago to Baltimore included two choices of continental breakfast. The first option was a fruit, yogurt and granola bowl, and the second was a fruit and cereal option. I chose the first of the two, and was surprised to be able to choose amongst two offerings, though suspect the reason for the dual catering was because of the flight originating out of the Chicago and not Baltimore.
The flight attendant on this trip was particularly friendly, and though there was only 2 of us seated in First, she was still attentive.
On the meal tray included:
- Blueberry yogurt
- Fruit bowl with granola, berries and a honey glaze sauce
- Slice of pre-packaged pound cake
The fruit was incredibly fresh, and the granola sweet, yet delicious. Combined with the blueberry yogurt, this was actually a really tasty and welcoming option aboard this flight. In fact, I’d almost much prefer this over a hot meal in most cases.
The honey glaze was actually a perfectly compliment to the yogurt, and while I’m unsure exactly what it was, it was almost mix between a honey and balsamic vinaigrette.
I’d order this again in a heartbeat if offered again.
