Save 5% Off Domestic and 10% Off Transatlantic American Airlines Tickets!

August 29, 2015 by James Larounis Leave a Comment

Get award booking help and personalized travel assistance for as little as $1 a month!

Use my VIP Promo Code FCJAMES315 for an annual rate of $395 (vs. the standard rate of $795), valid through September 5, 2015.

FoundersCard is an interesting membership only program that gives you unique discounts and privileges at a variety of merchants, including many travel partners. While it’s expensive at $395 a year, it can be a tremendous value:

  • 15% Off Silvercar rentals, and free replenishment of gas upon return
  • 20% Virgin Atlantic flights originating in the US, plus Flying Club Silver Elite
  • Complimentary HHonors Gold Status
  • Complimentary Cathay Pacific Parco Polo Club Silver Status
  • …and more!

Now, you can get a 5% discount on domestic flights and 10% off transatlantic flights purchased by November 1.

There are several blackout dates you want to keep in mind (all the traditional holidays and busy times):

  • September 3-7, 2015
  • October 8-12, 2015
  • November 19-December 1, 2015
  • December 17-31, 2015
  • January 1-10, 2016

This can be an absolutely fantastic benefit, though it’s worth keeping in mind that many transatlantic fares will be cheaper using an AARP $400 discount when booked through British Airways. That said, the domestic discount can’t be beat, and it is rare for there to be a standard, ongoing discount for domestic travel, outside of corporate contracts.

To redeem this benefit, you simply need to request a code which will be emailed to you. Easy enough.

A summary of the terms and conditions:

  • Not valid on codeshare flights
  • Valid for round-trip travel only (no one-ways or open-jaws)
  • Blackout dates apply
  • You must ticket the reservation when you use the code. You can’t hold it.

Here are the full terms and conditions: When used according to its terms, the promotion code entitles the user to a 10% on a published round-trip fare from the US to Europe and the United Kingdom or 5% on a published round-trip domestic fare. Discount is valid for travel, excluding codeshare flights, when purchased on AA.com between August 28, 2015 and November 1, 2015, for travel between August 28, 2015 and January 6, 2016. Embargo travel dates apply (September 3-7, 2015; October 8-12, 2015; November 19-December 1, 2015; December 17-31, 2015; January 1-10, 2016). The promotion code requires instant purchase and may not be applied to previous reservations or reservations placed on hold. The discount will not be applied to any government or airport imposed taxes, fees, or charges. Only one promotion code may be used per reservation. Round-trip travel is defined as travel from your city to the destination, and from the same destination back to the city where you originated travel with no deviations. For full terms and conditions about AA.com promotion codes, please visit http://www.aa.com/promotioncode. Offer valid only for FoundersCard members.

Use my VIP Promo Code FCJAMES315 for an annual rate of $395 (vs. the standard rate of $795), valid through September 5, 2015.
