Earn 1,000 SPG Points for Referring a Friend

March 18, 2016 by James Larounis Leave a Comment

Get award booking help and personalized travel assistance for as little as $1 a month!

For a limited time only you are able to earn 1000 Starpoints when you refer a friend to SPG. You are only able to make one referral per account, but this is still something that is worth looking into. At the current rate, this reward is equivalent to around $25, which is a good amount of money for something that does not require a great deal of effort, especially if you already have somebody in mind that you think may benefit from joining.

The person that you refer will get the same bonus after they have joined and completed an eligible stay, and this will be an incentive for people to join, so it should be even easier for you to convince your friend that they should join the SPG program. If you know that a friend stays in Starwood hotels regularly, but is not already a member of SPG, then it should be fairly easy to get them to agree to join, especially if they have an upcoming stay.

To invite a friend to join, you will need to log in to your own account and access your dashboard. Here you should see a refer a friend option that you can click on. You will need to enter the name and email address of your friend, and they will then be sent the invitation. When they have signed up, you will receive your bonus. Their bonus will be received after they have made a qualifying stay.

SPG stays start at 3,000 points a night, so you’ll be 1/3 of the way there with this easy promotion.
