American has toyed with their onboard meals over the last several years, much for the negative.
In October, there’s 2 changes coming to American’s onboard domestic First Class meal service:
Domestic Breakfast Refresh
Here’s what we can look forward to come October:
- A new egg entree.
- A continental fruit plate.
- Steel cut oatmeal with improved toppings.
- 3 choices of breakfast breads on all flights, up from 2: biscuits, croissants/bagels and a sweet bread.
From American Airlines: “We’re introducing new menu options in October which include a new egg entree, a continental fruit plate, and steel cut oatmeal with improved toppings. Customers will now have three bread choices for all breakfast flights: biscuits (every cycle), croissants/bagels, or sweet breakfast breads. In addition, each medium and long haul tray will receive vanilla Chobani yogurt.
Here’s what the new setup will look like.
I’m looking forward to the new continental fruit plate like on international flights, the new sweet breads (someone better put those darn cinnamon rolls on…), and the yogurt. All around, positive changes.
Beer Choices
American will be removing all Amstel products.
Snack Basket Refresh
American has promised to refresh the snack basket every six months. In the new rotation, we’ll have:
- 5 bags of Deep River Original Salted Kettle Cooked Potato Chips
- 3 bags of Boom Chicka Boom Sweet and Spicy Popcorn
- 3 bags of Whole Cuts
- 3 bags of Ginny Bakes Butter Crisp Love Mini Cookies
- 4 Nature’s Bakery Fig Bar, Raspberry
- 4 Clif Bar, Chocolate Chip, minisize
- 5 bags of Peterson’s Natural Raw Almonds
- 3 bags of Traverse Bay Premium Dried Cranberries
From American Airlines: “To provide customers with variety, we will continue to refresh premium cabin snack basket every six months. This refresh will include more all-day snack items such as fig bars, Clif bars and dried fruit to accommodate customer demand.”
Here’s what the new basket will look like:
I’m going to miss those salt and pepper cashews… those things were addictive!
