It’s the little things in life, isn’t it. Santa Barbara is probably my favorite small city in the US, and my favorite small airport.
The last mainline jet service Santa Barbara saw was Frontier Airlines in January 15 to Denver, but that disappeared. Looks likes Santa Barbara will once again see mainline service on American Airlines – this time to Dallas/Ft. Worth.
An Airbus 319 (A319) will be replacing the currently used CRJ-900 during the peak May-September months on the DFW to SBA route.
The plane has 8 First Class seats, 24 Main Cabin Extra and 96 standard Main Cabin seats.
It’s one less First Class seats for upgrades, but on the upgraded A319 planes, there’s at least power at the seats.
Why Visit Santa Barbara?
- It’s a great small airport. You’ll be through security within seconds.
- It’s a short drive to the city, and the city streets are filled with big name and small name shops alike.
- There’s a great waterfront, and beach.
- Tons of shopping and restaurants.
- Tons of performing arts venues.
- Several nice hotels.
It’s got the nickname of the American Riviera for a reason. 🙂 Anyways, nice to see the upgraded plane on this route – a route I travel a few times a year.
i wonder if you’ve been to tucson, AZ … my favorite small town airport. so beautiful with all the cacti, and car rental in the terminal building.
