The Four Points by Sheraton Miraflores is located in the trendy, more upscale Miraflores neighborhood of Peru, about a 20-25 minute Uber ride from the Plaza de Armas. If you’re looking to stay near the cultural center of Peru this hotel isn’t for you. But, if you’re looking to stay in a safe neighborhood with plenty of restaurants to choose from, and a short walk from a high end shopping mall along the water, this hotel is certainly going to be up your alley.
I arrived at the hotel after midnight due to my flight arrival time, so I just checked in at the front desk and headed to my room. The desk agent was cordial and recognized my SPG Platinum status, and I was informed that I was given a suite upgrade.
Included with the check-in was a welcome drink voucher.
My room was a one-bedroom suite. Entering the room, the bathroom was on the right with all the standard amenities.
Moving forward was the living room, complete with a single chair, sofa, as well as desk. It was a large area, and while on the tad-bit dated side, certainly was clean and got the job done.
The bedroom was off to the left, with a closing door. The only quirk I found in here was the light in the dresser would not turn off, despite fiddling with every light switch in the room. Not sure if it just didn’t turn off, but it wasn’t a huge deal with both doors closed.
Now, onto a note about the air conditioning. The bathroom and living room were cooled using central air, while the bedroom had a separate wall unit, with a separate control. I often find these wall units never to heat or cool the room at the set temperature, so you may have to set it a few degrees cooler if you want the room as such, especially with the warm Peruvian temperatures.
Breakfast each morning was served in the downstairs restaurant, and was my least favorite part of the hotel stay. The food was less than stellar, and did not taste fresh at all. I barely ate anything in the morning, and I honestly did not find everything to be well prepared.
I had dinner the first night in the restaurant, and actually enjoyed my meal – it was a nice Peruvian filet of beef, rice, potatoes as well as a shrimp starter. It was all very tasty.
On my final night, I was hungry around 11:00p, and ordered a room service club sandwich, which totaled around 10 USD, which was quite cheap. I was amazed to find the club sandwich to be one of the best I’ve had in any hotel, surprisingly.
Location of the hotel was decent – about 2 blocks away from Kennedy Park, and right in the central part of Miraflores.
My Take
Overall, a good stay. Friendly staff, nice room, good location. I’d stay here again, though I think I’d want to try to Sheraton near the other part of the city just for comparison.
