What’s the Best Travel Umbrella?

I hate traveling to a different city, only to find out that when I get there it’s pouring rain and I’m stuck without an umbrella. Sure, some hotels have them to loan to guests, but when they do they’re usually full-size golf umbrellas that are pesky and bulky to carry around, if and when they’re available, which tends to be few and far between. Carrying an umbrella is an essential party of any savvy traveler’s gear, but finding the best travel umbrella can be a difficult, especially with all the different sizes, styles and weights out there.

The best travel umbrella, in my opinion, is the Repel Easy Touch Umbrella.

Here’s why:

  • This travel umbrella has 9 reinforced fiberglass ribs, that flex in the wind. This umbrella won’t turn inside out with big guests.
  • This umbrella is equipped with Dupont Teflon, which creates serious water repellency.
  • The best feature is that this umbrella has a lifetime replacement guarantee. If anything breaks or goes wrong, it’s replaced without question.
  • It can be operated with one hand.
  • It weighs less than a pound, and is less than a foot long – perfect for carrying in a briefcase, luggage or any small bag.

Here’s how Repel, the manufacturer, describes the umbrella:

You can’t change the weather. But you can repel it. Repel easy touch travel umbrella goes to extremes to keep you dry. In fact, the worse the weather, the harder it works. The canopy fabric is one of the strongest available 210T pongee polyester for optimum water repellency. That means this small umbrella repels dirt, water and UV rays and can dry almost instantly! furthermore, our compact umbrella is virtually windproof! When the wind is relentless, the unique 9-rib resin-reinforced fiberglass construction provides flexibility and stability. That means no snapped ribs or flipped canopies to leave you exposed to the elements. Automatic open/close offers easy operation. Generous 42″ canopy provides needed coverage yet retracts to just 11½” in length. Now that is a small and compact umbrella that can expand with ease to transform into a full size umbrella! the repel travel umbrella is designed with three-fold chrome plated metal shaft, rubberized sure-grip handle and a strong dabei metal frame. At repel we raise the limits of our products because mother nature has no limits.

This bad boy can withstand high winds, is backed by a lifetime guarantee, and also compact to take with you anywhere you go. It’s my go-to travel umbrella, and I’d highly recommend it for your travels, too.

Amazon has the cheapest price on this umbrella.
