Le Méridien Philadelphia Review

The Le Méridien Philadelphia is located directly beside City Hall, about one block from SEPTA’s Suburban Station. It’s a short walk to the Avenue of the Arts, and I would say would be a good 20 minute walk to most Philadelphia attractions, which makes this hotel’s location great for any traveler. To stay here for free, consider looking at the SPG Credit Card from American Express.

Checking in, I was greeted by a friendly associate at the front desk, who was training a new employee. The new employee wasn’t quite comfortable yet in checking me on his own it seemed, so she proceeded with the formalities. As a Starwood Platinum member, I was informed that I was upgraded to a Superior King, and I double checked with the SPG app that no suites were in fact available.

The hotel’s restaurant was directly inside of the lobby, and you actually walked through and beside it to head to the elevators, which I took the the eighth floor where my room was located.

The Le Meridian Philadelphia seems to be within another building, because as you took the elevator up, the landing overlooked the side of another building inside, which was pretty neat.

My room reminded very much of a Kimpton hotel – a little bit funky, with modern touches. As you entered the room, the bathroom – which was of sizable size – was on the right.

To the left was a large armoire, housing the mini bar, as well as ironing board and plush bathrobe.

The bed was straight ahead on the right, and was a full King sized bed, flanked by two night stands. In the corner of the room was a very comfortable, albeit crazy looking, chair. It was incredibly inviting to sit in, and was a great place to pull out my laptop and charge some devices on the nearby plug.

The room overlooked City Hall, and some nearby streets, though I did not notice any outside noise, which was nice.

I didn’t have any breakfast at the hotel as I instead opted for the 500 Starpoints welcome gift.

Overall, the Le Méridien Philadelphia good hotel and the price was right for the night I stayed. Location was excellent – a short walk to most Philadelphia attractions, and I found the room to be large enough and clean enough that I’d return again.
