American Airlines is revising its short haul beverage service on flights less than 250 miles effective June 1.
Per an internal memo:
The following flights were previously exempt from this, and featured a full service, but will now no longer:
- DFW-AUS
- DFW-HOU
- DFW-IAH
- DFW-OKC
- DFW-SAT
- DFW-TUL
- JFK-BOS
- JFK-DCA
- LAX-LAS
Interestingly, DCA-BOS, BOS-LGA, DCA-LGA Shuttle flights are exempt. These are premium markets which are understandable.
Flights under 250 miles will be catered with bottles of water and juice, in addition to a small cart with full options for requests.
I imagine Executive Platinum members will still be able to request bar items for free, as well as First Class customers still being offered a drink of choice.
Max M says
While I realize some American Eagle operating carriers are not owned by AA, both American Eagle and American Airlines fly TUL-DFW. So now if one flies mainline on TUL-DFW they will experience beverage reductions, but if they fly TUL-DFW on American Eagle, they’ll still get full beverage service?
Gotta love the logic in this.
