A few weeks ago I went to Phoenix. Phoenix is a large area, and with many surrounding cities and National Parks, it is the perfect place to explore with wheels. I decided to rent a Silvercar instead of renting from one of the “usual suspects.” Let me tell you why renting a Silvercar rental was the best decision I could have made.

Silvercar only rents Silver Audi A4’s, hence the name of the company being “Silvercar”. These rentals only operate out of certain cities in the US, including Austin, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Fort Lauderdale, LA, Miami, New York, Phoenix and San Fran.

Although not necessarily cheaper than other car rental companies (but certainly in-line in most cases), they often promote deals which can be huge money savers if you’re seeking to invest in a luxury car rental. One of these discounts was the reason I decided to take a chance on Silvercar as it was only $261 to rent the car for 5 days, which seemed like a great deal to me!

Reserving a Silvercar rental is easy, and you can access the service online or through the Silvercar app which can be used on iOS and Android phones. The reservation is saved to your phone and gives you further instructions on what steps to take next.

On the day you go to pick up your rental, find the instructions on where to find their headquarters. My booking told me to meet the Silvercar shuttle at the rental car facility, where it would take us to their lot located off airport grounds. When you’re ready and waiting, just hit the “pick me up” button and they’ll be there.

Once you’ve chosen your Silver Audi (it shouldn’t be too difficult seeing as they’re all the same), scan the QR code on the windshield to your app and the car will unlock, and off you go! Minimal paperwork required here!

Silvercar cars are in great condition, clean, sleek and modern – definitely a change from the usual beaten up old car rentals I was used to! Some features of the car include free wi-fi, satellite radio, GPS and toll tracking.

If you need to make amends to your reservation, you can do so straight from the handy silvercar app on your phone!

It’s super easy to return the car, the app will guide you right to where you need to take it, and what’s even better is that you don’t have to fully refill the car with gas before you return it! Just $5 and they’ll do it for you.

Silvercar is more slightly expensive than other rental companies because of the luxury of the vehicles it rents, so if you’re on a budget this might not be the best company for you, but as I said, their prices are many times in line with traditional rental car companies. So if luxury cars are what you’re into then this is the perfect, no stress way to test out a luxury ride. But their sales and promotions can often make it worth your while!

Overall, I was extremely satisfied with my Silvercar rental experience. The easy to use app made it super quick and hassle free, so I was able to worry about other more important things – like whether or not I had brought enough beer for the camping trip. The cars are fully equipped with everything you need, and what’s more they’re great fun to drive. So if you feel like splashing out a bit on a fancy car to take on your holiday, then Silvercar is a great choice.
