About

The XCom Global Mobile Wifi Hotspot allows you to internet connection in over one hundred and seventy five countries on any device that are web-enabled. It’s a small, rent-able device. There are three different plans to choose from, based on your needs of this device. First plan charges a flat rate per day at $14.95 for coverage in up to two countries. Any extra day beyond your two day period, calls for an additional $14.95, plus an extra $30 for any more areas wanting coverage. Europe Travel Plan also charges $14.95 per day, but consists of internet throughout forty countries in Europe, with no surcharges. Finally, a monthly package for $395 per month with coverage in up to four countries. Good deal!

Pros and Cons

There are multiple pros of this product, compared to fewer cons. For one, you will not be without wifi even while you are traveling around. The device fits in your hand easily. Its lightweight design keeps your pockets from being weighed down and is about half the size of an iPhone 5. International data on your smartphone plan would probably cost a lot more, than renting The Hotspot at $14.95 per day charge. Once the Hotspot is charged, fully, the battery may last up to four hours of use without stopping. If you were to turn it off while being unused, it could make one charge last all day! It offers unlimited data, meaning you can use your connection as much as you like. It runs on a 3G network, even though it can drop to 2G if coverage appears spotty), meaning it will be fast wifi! Your data will be secure with the device, unlike using most public internet connections. It is a password protected network to help assure so! Best of all, it can be used with multiple devices.

The Hotspot comes with a slightly bulky plug, but its universal plug can fit in outlets in UK, Europe, USA, and Australia. In Australia, however, they have switches directly next to outlets that will turn on or off power. The plug’s size is large enough that it may accidentally flip switches. You can detach a cord from its wall outlet and charge it via USB, in need be. Be sure to check coverage on a map before you purchase this device. In remote areas, you may not have service to get retrieve coverage you are paying for.

Ratings

Usefulness gets a 10/10. Using your smartphone on a road trip as if you were at home is not usually valuable for most who travel.

Portability also gets a 10/10. Lightweight device makes it easy to load in pockets, purses, or any other bag without noticing any extra weight.

Value gets a 10/10. If you travel and do not have an international roaming plan, you will get very high charges by your provider if you use data overseas, but it lets you use as much data as needed, all for just $14.95 per day.

Durability gets a 9/10. It handles basic bumps and drops, but if it were dropped in water or thrown from a long distance, it would take some damage.

Coolness receives a 10/10!A design so discreet, keeping it from being a target for thieves, but what can be cooler than being able to use your phone, tablet, etc. whenever and wherever you like and whatever you want?

Overall

Totally worth it if you are a traveler. Secure, quick wifi connection wherever you go (even other countries) all for under $15. Amazing!
