Dallas Attractions That Are Free That You Should See

When in Dallas, there’s several places you can go to that are free, so you don’t have to break the bank. Dallas attractions that are free are a great way to see the city on a budget.

While not necessarily free, Billy Bob’s Honky Tonk only costs $1-$4 to get in, and is a vibrant scene of true Texas hospitality.

The famous roadhouse-style barbeque steak, brisket and ribs are only part of the story at Billy Bob’s Texas Honky Tonk, dubbed the world’s largest honky tonk.

More than 6,000 people can squeeze into Billy Bob’s to watch concerts, hit the dance floor, dine at the restaurant, play the casino and catch the live bull-riding shows.

The John F. Kennedy Memorial is a short walk from the Texas School Book Depository where JFK was shot, and is a stunning tribute to the slain President.

The Dallas Arts District is a vibrant scene of shops, museums and performing venues, all set in the heart of Dallas.

The Stockyards National Historic District is a free area where “twice a day at 11:30am and 4pm a fun round-up of Texas longhorn cattle takes to the historic district’s streets, and Stockyards Station hosts walking tours of the precinct.”

Pioneer Plaza is another great place, right near the convention center.

The plaza celebrates the paths that brought settlers to the city and includes native plants and trees and a flowing stream, as well as 49 bronze longhorn steer statues, all of them being driven by three cowboys on horses in a recreation of a typical 19th-century cattle drive. Each steer is six feet tall, and together they are thought to make up the largest bronze sculpture of its kind. It is considered a work in progress, so occasionally another bronze steer is added.

Hopefully this short list of Dallas attractions that are free keeps you under budget on your next trip to Dallas!
