New York City Skyline Cruise Review

Trying to see everything in Lower Manhattan is all but impossible. However, there is an entertaining and economical way to do this: a 90-minute New York City Skyline Cruise around Manhattan Harbor with a live, knowledgeable, and fun tour guide. Depart either morning or afternoon at Pier 78 at West 38th and 12th Avenue. Enjoy the breeze and fresh air on the outside observation deck or find a seat in the climate-controlled cabin. Cruise down the Hudson River, through Manhattan Harbor, up the East River, and back to see all the best sites Lower Manhattan has to offer.

The cruise presents spectacular, unobstructed views of the world famous Manhattan skyline. One World Trade Center and the Empire State Building soar above as the boat passes by. The live commentator shares the history of these magnificent buildings, enriching the experience. The New York City Skyline Cruise also features the Chrysler Building with it’s distinctive architecture, United Nations Headquarters, and the South Street Seaport. Dating back 400 years, the Seaport is currently undergoing a renovation to attract New Yorkers and tourists alike.

One of the most iconic landmarks is the Statue of Liberty. Make sure cameras are out to capture this up close view. Getting to see Lady Liberty in this way makes one feel small in her presence. It’s truly an awe inspiring sight. Traveling on to Ellis Island is an emotional moment. 12 million immigrants passed through here as they began their new lives in an unfamiliar land. This is another great moment when the tour guide will provide interesting historical facts about about one of New York’s most fascinating places.

One of the most amazing engineering accomplishments is the Brooklyn Bridge. Enjoy the detail of this site that opened in 1883 as the boat takes you past the bridge that took fourteen years to complete. As with so many other times during the hour and a half, this is a great time to take photos.

One of the advantages to booking a New York City Skyline Cruise is the opportunity to upgrade to a One World Observatory Admission and/or a National September 11 Memorial and Museum ticket. The tickets can be used within 14 days of purchase, which makes planning flexible. With so much to do in the area, being able to visit at anytime in a two week time period makes traveling that much easier.

New York City Skyline Cruise is a terrific value. So much to see for not a lot of money. This is truly a good deal for individuals and families who may be looking for a less expensive way to see some of the most well-known sites in New York City.
