A few weeks ago, American introduced iSolve, an inflight compensation program, and we learned what specific issues would be compensated for.
I had my first “live” experience with iSolve today from ORD to JFK! I pre ordered the fruit and cheese plate in First Class and Chicago catering forgot to load it.
As the flight attendant was reviewing his manifest and taking meal orders, he noted the shortage and apologized profusely.
The flight attendant proactively brought out his tablet (he was awesome, the issue was totally not his fault) and selected through the prompts and 2,500 miles were offered.
For what it is worth, my traveling companion (AAdvantage general member, non elite) who cleared the upgrade with me and was seated next to me, who also pre ordered the fruit and cheese, was also offered 2,500 miles from the system.
Kudos to FA Raul for using the system properly, being apologetic and allowing us to be his first test dummies!
Here’s the best part and what I’m very impressed at. Within 2 hours of landing, the miles were deposited into my AAdvantage account – instant gratification and a testament to the new compensation program. I’m very impressed on how the situation was handled and how fast the miles were offered and posted!
