Okay, call me impressed. Super impressed. I ordered the Asian Vegetarian meal on tonight’s San Fransisco to Dallas flight. It was an enormous amount of food – probably two times the amount of food you’d normally receive up front, which I totally wasn’t expecting.
Here’s what was included:
- Salad with lemon dressing (the salad was way better than what was on the other regular meals, by the way)
- Fruit plate
- Stuffed pepper (some sort of Greek like salad inside with asparagus on top)
- Basmati rice, curried cauliflower and peas.
- Packaged bread roll.
The only thing disappointing was the packaged bread roll, which was dry and unappealing. That said, the flight attendant offered a choice from the usual bread basket and ice cream sundae dessert. The entree was spicy, but not overwhelmingly so — usually the meals onboard are bland, but this wasn’t so. If you’re hungry, this meal is defiantly the way to go due to the portion size.
Seriously some of the best catering I’ve had on American, and well worth the order on your next flight.
You can order the Asian Vegetarian meal on any meal-eligible American domestic flight.
