Happening Now: Systemwide Ground Stop on American Airlines

Via numerous reports on Twitter, Facebook and other sources, there appears to be a systemwide issue with numerous components of American’s software that runs the network.

The issue is effecting all operations, and if you’re on the ground, you won’t be taking off any time soon. Those in the air look to still be enroute to final destinations at this time and there’s no effect to planes that have already taken off.

I’ll have more info here as it becomes available.

Update 1:26p CDT: Report from inside. American’s IOC is on a standstill, employees standing around not able to function or resolve with most systems down.

Update 1:37p CDT: Some internal systems are beginning to work at this time, reported by several users. No effect to AA.com or the public app it seems.
