The Benefits of Solo Travel for Enrolled Students

Get award booking help and personalized travel assistance for as little as $1 a month!

Solo travel has become the leading trend for 2019 across the board for Americans, and grows heavily in Millennial and Gen Z demographics especially. The trend is exactly as it sounds: traveling alone instead of with a group. As it grows in a college demographic, the intimidating idea of traveling without someone, along with the rising prices of travel can stop a stressed out student from engaging with this relaxing trend. That said, there’s a multitude of reasons for enrolled students to consider solo travel the next time a break in coursework comes around.

Boosting Quality of Life

Travel is proven to help relieve stress, and if there’s one thing that college students have in droves it’s certainly stress. Taking a trip alone can give a student time to clear their mind and shake off the cobwebs hung around their brain from a semester of tests and cramming. It can also be useful to take the time to organize and plan their student finances while helping to keep costs low by spending the summer traveling instead of in an expensive summer class.

A Change of Scenery

Students have all sorts of things clogging their mind during their semester, with the focus on passing and graduating being nearly all-consuming at times. Spending the break away from campus and getting a fresh bit of scenery can help to break away from the monotonous studying cycle. Trading in the same dorm room and college campus for a new town can help to reset the mind and make returning to school a bit less of a drag.

Retaking Control

College and university is filled with so much to do that it’s difficult for students to ever feel in control. Spending the break traveling alone lets a student be in charge of their day from start to finish. This is a nice break from having to conform to the guidelines of the college. It’s especially useful to do this solo to stop from having to go along with what someone else may want to do on the trip.

Solo travel is the cheapest way to travel, as well as providing an incredible amount of freedom to do whatever comes to mind. Students benefit from traveling alone better than most demographics as they can use the time to take back control of their lives and enjoy their time alone. Overall, travel is one of the most rewarding and swiftest ways to improve quality of life. It’s easy to see why the trend continues to grow well into 2019.
