Introduction:
Yet again, Mother Nature has stepped in to intervene. All plans, no matter how big or small got affected when the news hit that Hurricane Lane was busy leaving its mark on Hawaii. What was once a category 5 storm has now dialed down to a category 3 storm. Since the days it has begun, this is a time that will not be forgotten in Hawaii. Damages are still being assessed according to a spokesperson of the Hawaii County Civil Defense. The Hawaii Island, the tropical landmark for all the dream-like fantasies is now a land trying to withstand natural catastrophes.
Hurricane Lane:
Having been originated near the coast of Mexico on August 11thfrom a tropical wave to a tropical storm, Hurricane Lane became the first Category 5 storm after Patricia. Along the area of the Pacific, hurricanes have been noted in the history of the region. Not just Patricia, but 11 other named hurricanes have hit the land hard enough to have made their destructive presence known. Weather experts and Meteorologists have had their eye on this tropical depression when it evolved from a tropical wave on August 15.
Around this time all airlines were aware of the changes in the weather and most of them started reconsidering the flight scheduleskeeping the safety of their planes in mind while some were willing to fight the storm. Airlines like American, Delta and United were the last ones to submit to the destructive rampage of the storm. American Airline has just now announced that it will reschedule the flights since the weather around the landing zone is far too critical to risk an extreme landing. The gushes of winds that are continuously attacking all land mass are measured close to about 130 miles per hour have caused intense worry in the minds of the locals as well as outsiders.
Impact and Current Circumstances:
Hurricane Lane has forced everything to be on hold as we try to make it through this storm. Locals, foreigners, all have been trying to get out as the main Islands are getting caught in the disaster. This has caused all to turn to the already filled airports, causing a lot of companies to bring out everything they have at their disposal. 15 Airports of Hawaiiare still operational but not without their own fee to do it. Reports have been made that a huge amount is being charged per ticket since all flights are in extreme demand. To tackle the increased demand forplanes, all the planes in the inventories have been brought out by the Airlines. Rerouting spare planes towards Hawaii has proven influential but not enough to meet the needs of the innumerable people rushing to the airports daily.
Hurricane Lane has shown no sign of mercy even though it’s been 9 days since it attained hurricane status. When it attained hurricane status on August 17, two and a half days after it was a tropical depression, it still showed no signs of slowing down. On 22ndAugust it finally became a Category 5 hurricane that became a historic catastrophe. Even though it’s down to Category 3 now, it’s still improbable that anyone will take the risk of either going or staying in the Hawaii Islands.
Conclusion:
Hurricane Lane has caused a lot of changes to be made and the whole world looking at it with concern. WithTrump issuing a state of emergency for Hawaii, missions and operations are underway to help with the situation. However, matters and situations in Hawaii are on pause and will probably take effect of this extraordinary circumstance. If you’re still planning to go to Hawaii for whatever crazy reason, make sure you have the best motorcycle helmets for women and that you take your all weathermotorcycle jacket with you as protection against the weather.
