Keep Calm and Carry-On: How to Travel with Just a Carry-On Bag?

Traveling light can sometimes seem too difficult for some people. However, there is always a way to manage traveling with a simple carry-on bag without having to restrict yourself, whether you’re traveling for a couple of days or for a whole year. Once you let go of checking in baggage and convert to a simple carry-on bag, you’ll find that there is no need to go back. This way you get more freedom and simplicity in your travels and it’s completely hassle free.

All you need to do is follow some simple steps to manage packing all you would need in your travels in a little light bag.

Choose the right bag

The first step in traveling light is choosing the right carry-on bag that will take all your essentials and still be compact. You would first need to check the airlines’ guidelines on what the correct measurements are in their carry-on luggage, so you won’t be disappointed, on when you show up at the airport. Then, you can choose from a variety of carry-on options on offer at Standard Luggage Co. and see what fits your needs best. You would need a bag that would hold everything, from electronics to clothing, so you can avoid the hassle of carrying multiple bags.

Pack the essentials

It probably goes without saying that if you want to pack light, you would need to get rid of anything that is not absolutely necessary and only pack items that you cannot live without. Take single pairs of everything and think outfits instead of individual pieces. Try your best to pack clothing for a short period of time, then do your laundry regularly wherever you’ll be.

Things like toiletries can be easily purchased for a small cost from duty-free shops or supermarkets pretty much anywhere in the world, so don’t waste time or space on packing them. This will make your security check trip much easier as well as you won’t have to carry any liquids.

Pack efficiently

Packing correctly is just as important as packing the essentials only. When you roll your clothes instead of folding them up, you’ll end up saving more space for other important things like your electronics or your shoes. Try using up all the free space in your carry-on bag.

Invest in small multi-taskers

Another important tip to help you pack all you need in a simple carry-on bag is to buy smaller versions of everything. Things like compact towels or electronic books will save up space and be lighter in weight. You may also consider packing multi-purpose items. Scarves that can double as a dress or towels that can turn into beach mats, all of this will help in the packing process and make your life much easier.

Traveling with a carry-on bag is a great way to make your travel hassle-free. There is no need to restrict yourself when packing all you need in a small bag. All you would need to do is plan ahead and only pack what you really need on your trip. This way, you can enjoy a smooth, stress-free trip.
