Noosa region, where luxury and lifestyle meet at the beach

Get award booking help and personalized travel assistance for as little as $1 a month!

The Noosa region on the Sunshine Coast in Australia is known as the place where the wealthy like to spend their winters, and probably their summers.

Australia is a beautiful country but some places, such as the Noosa region, are as close to paradise as you can get on the planet.

The houses are waterfront, elegant, and large. There’s plenty of space for the yacht and an array of delightful restaurants and other nighttime opportunities.

But, what really makes this area special is the beach and the tourist communities.

While Noosa may be fairly exclusive, there are plenty of low-density farming ventures and delightful tourist destinations in the vicinity. This brings a huge influx of visitors into the area, which makes it even more attractive to those wanting the best lifestyle and a small-town ambiance.

Local Events

The beach is on your doorstep and offers an array of water sports or simple relaxation. There’s enough beach to ensure you can be as crowded or as peaceful as you want.

But, a short trip in and will allow you to experience one of the best markets in the whole of Australia. Eumundi market has been in existence for 40 years and attracts in excess of 1.6 million visitors a year. You’ll find a host of treasures at the market that will satisfy anyone’s wallet.

Check out this guide for how to get to Eumundi markets from Noosa, it’s that easy!

The Beach

The area right by the waterfront is referred to as Noosa heads and this is the most exclusive part of the town. You’ll note the impressive yachts and motorboats. But, you can also rent kayaks, windsurfers, jet-skis, and even fast fishing boats. You don’t have to be ultra-rich to enjoy the facilities here.

The real beauty of the beach, thanks to Australia’s strict planning guidelines, is that you can step onto the golden sand and be at one with nature, there’s hardly a sign of man-made structures as they are all 100m inland.

You’ll find there are also plenty of forested areas in the region that are largely untouched, another attempt by the government to preserve nature for the future.

Food Choices

As befits an exclusive area you’ll find there is almost any type of food you can think of, from traditional fish and chips to Chinese, Thai, and other exotic blends. It’s a good idea to head away from the Heads and into Northshore, the prices are significantly cheaper and the average person more middle-class.

But, it’s still a beautiful spot.

Wildlife

With the abundance of open and green spaces, it’s not surprising to find a wide array of wildlife in the area. There are actually two swampy areas that attract an impressive array of birds, with little human contact this is a fascinating place to visit.

It should be noted that water is generally scarce in the summer. While there’s enough to live the gardens often have to be left to dry. This may detract from the manmade beauty but it doesn’t change the fact that this is where luxury and real-life meet, with beautiful results.
