On my recent redeye flight from Los Angeles to Washington Dulles, while seated in First Class, I was offered a continental breakfast box shortly before arrival in Washington. While I was hoping for a full breakfast, this pre-packaged box is part of the new American meal standards.
Let’s take a look inside to see what’s on offer:
Inside was…
- Frusion fruit and yogurt smoothie
- Pre-packaged croissant
- Package of apple butter
- Emerald breakfast on the go nut and oatmeal mix
- Strawberry preserves package
- A US Airways branded hand and face towelette
Personally, I didn’t eat anything inside as I wasn’t terribly hungry, nor did anything seem excitedly appealing. I hope this isn’t the direction that American is moving in, and I hope that if a breakfast box like this does continue to be on offering, that it is at least packed with fresher, more appealing products.
Have you experienced the new American Airlines First Class continental breakfast box?

That is what you get when the best airline (American) is taken over by one of the wost (US Air). The box breakfast is nothing healthy and mostly sugar and carbs; i.e., the worst. A big step backwards to AA flyers. Terrible.
