The other day, Etihad published a series of outstanding fares to the Middle East, and beyond for prices well under $500. Some routes even priced out at under $200, which is nowhere near the true pricing for a longhair route such as JFK to Abu Dhabi.
Katie Connell, a spokesperson for the airline talked about the fares, which were an apparent mistake:
A system filing issue caused ticket prices for a promotion in the USA to be temporarily listed incorrectly. The issue has since been rectified. Etihad Airways will honor these fares.
It’s unknown how many tickets were issued during the “sale,” however it lasted for over 20 hours according to Etihad.
Etihad will be honoring the mistake fares, which is a fantastic outcome for folks who purchased tickets. Some even purchased multiple flights worth, though for me specifically, I didn’t get in on the deal since I didn’t have aspirations of visiting the Middle East while being such in a coach seat for 15 hours… 🙂
Did you purchase tickets during the sale? If so, enjoy your now confirmed flights!

So I guess I’m not allowed to fly JFK-AUH?

Why not? Did you book that?
