There are three U.S based travel programs, which includes; American Express Membership Rewards, Starwood Preferred Guest, and Citi Thank You. Cathay Pacific happens to be a member of oneworld Alliance, and a transfer partner of the three programs. This fact has led to easy collection of Cathay Pacific miles. For instance, given a face-lift that Marco polo received from Cathay Pacific, respective members are able to earn more elite status, with qualified club miles. oneworld is the world’s leading quality airline alliance and they’ve been able to bring together 15 world’s biggest and best names in the airline industry. The alliance provides great services that it offers to about 1000 destinations worldwide, and having elite status allows you to travel seamlessly across the network. It additionally offers special rewards to travelers, which gives them the privilege to earn and redeem on its airlines.

If one is a frequent flyer and a member of one of the oneworld member airlines, traveling on an eligible flight earns you points and status towards your tier status. This is normally if one travels on eligible flight. In addition, you are entitled to greater benefits if by any chance your top tier status is equivalent to oneworld ruby. This, usually, does not matter which OneWorld cabin class one is flying but applies to all flights. The benefits with oneworld Ruby include: access to business class’ priority check-in, access to preferred seating, and priority on waitlists, to name a few.

So, how do you get oneworld Ruby status without flying?

Easy. Included with SELECT membership is free Marco Polo Club Silver elite status, which is oneworld Ruby status. Without flying a single mile a year, just by having SELECT, you can get oneworld Ruby status for free. Easy as that. To get a SELECT card, click here.

SELECT transforms any existing credit or debit card into a black card that unlocks VIP perks, pricing, and experiences at thousands of premier destinations around the world.
