American Airlines recently made a change to their mobile app, and add the following note under their elite status qualification metrics.

“Note: At least 4 AA/US segments are required for elite status.”

Many other airlines require a similar qualification, and to be honest, this isn’t hard to do, but it is interesting they posted this without warning.IMG_3617.JPG

It’s not a new requirement, it’s been in the rules for several years but this is the first year they seem as though they are going to enforce it and earlier this year they updated the language on the page at aa.com that mentions it.

Thanks for the clarification, Gary! I suspect it won’t affect many of us who hold status on AA.

This has been in the T&C for the overall program for many years.
