The National Park Service hosts several free entrance days throughout the year, and the next day happens to be coming up this Saturday, September 27.
The 2014 days are:
- January 20, Martin Luther King Jr. Day
- February 15-17, Presidents Day weekend
- April 19-20, opening weekend of National Park Week
- August 25, National Park Service Birthday
- September 27, National Public Lands Day
- November 11, Veteran’s Day
You can see a full list of which parks waive their entrance fees on these fee-free days here. Since some parks charge what could be a hefty fee to get in, if you’re looking to save a few bucks, this Saturday could be your chance! The next fee-free day is on November 11, Veteran’s Day.
Per the NPS website, “Fee waiver includes: entrance fees, commercial tour fees, and transportation entrance fees. Other fees such as reservation, camping, tours, concession and fees collected by third parties are not included unless stated otherwise.”
