Free Entrance In National Parks This Saturday!

The National Park Service hosts several free entrance days throughout the year, and the next day happens to be coming up this Saturday, September 27.

The 2014 days are:

• January 20, Martin Luther King Jr. Day
• February 15-17, Presidents Day weekend
• April 19-20, opening weekend of National Park Week
• August 25, National Park Service Birthday
• September 27, National Public Lands Day
• November 11, Veteran’s Day

You can see a full list of which parks waive their entrance fees on these fee-free days here. Since some parks charge what could be a hefty fee to get in, if you’re looking to save a few bucks, this Saturday could be your chance! The next fee-free day is on November 11, Veteran’s Day.

Per the NPS website, “Fee waiver includes: entrance fees, commercial tour fees, and transportation entrance fees. Other fees such as reservation, camping, tours, concession and fees collected by third parties are not included unless stated otherwise.”
