To fly Aeroflot, or not fly Aeroflot…that is the question.

My most recent trip to Brussels included 2 stays at an American Express Fine Hotel and Resort. For this review, I’ll be reviewing the Rocco Forte Hotel Amigo Brussels.
How did I book this hotel: I booked this hotel directly through American Express Fine Hotels and Resorts at a nightly rate of approximately $150 USD.
What was included in my rate: Breakfast, an 85 Euro food and beverage credit, upgraded room and early check-in and late check-out.
Pros of the hotel: The hotel restaurant, Restaurante Bocconi was fantastic. They served a tremendous 4 course dinner, and a breakfast complete with some terrific Belgian waffles. The hotel’s location was phenomenal, one block off of the Grote Markt. If you want to stay within central Brussels, within walking distance of the historic sites and many restaurants and shops, this is the place to stay.
Cons of the hotel: To be honest, there aren’t many. I found the room to be spacious for European standards, the food in the restaurant to be on par with most well-rated restaurants, and the location of the hotel to be beyond any other hotel in the area worth staying in.
The room was very comfortable, and was nicely sized for other hotels in the area. I had a view of a nearby church outside my window, and the bathroom was large enough to use without bumping into things. Overall, a spacious room and was in the heart of downtown Brussels, that wasn’t overpowered by any street noise.

This brought back great memories of when I lived in Brussels and worked around the corner from this great hotel. I stayed there when I was about to move back to the U.S. and really enjoyed it.
