Review: Hyatt Regency Santa Clara

Located just minutes from the San Jose International Airport is the Hyatt Regency Santa Clara. An Uber from the airport to the hotel will cost you about $15.

The property is situated in an industrial office park area of the major tech giants, and is steps away from the 49ers stadium and Great America amusement park.

The property has free self parking, and valet is about $20 a night.

Once you enter the hotel, you’re greeted with an expansive lobby.

Ahead, you’ll find the check-in desk, complete with self check-in options and a priority lane for Diamond members. To the right is the restaurant and bar, which was filled for the majority of the time I was at this hotel.

After checking in, I headed to my room on the 6th floor. Unfortunately, no complimentary upgrades were available, and I was placed in a Twin room – which, was the room I had booked, because it was considerably cheaper than a King/Queen room, apparently.

There was nothing incredibly special about this standard hotel room, and I had an unfortunate view of the hotel’s parking deck outside. Off in the distance, probably a short 10 minute walk away was the 49ers stadium, which is convenient.

By the front door was an exposed closet.

The bathroom was reasonably sized, and clean.

The room was worn, and showed with the chair in the corner of the living area.

The most exciting thing about this hotel – and what made it really worthwhile, is the Hyatt Regency Club, located on the ground floor.

Overall, this was a good hotel for a short stay, or a purposed stay in the area – but it’s by no means a destination. Enjoy the Regency Club, while you’re here because it’s one of the best I’ve been to!
