Spirit Airlines is running a promotion for one week only – good until November 14th – for a 40% bonus on purchased Spirit miles.
Let me first start by saying that I will never fly Spirit, and wouldn’t advise anyone to collect their miles, let alone buy them…unless of course you took part in their recent free miles for complaining campaign.
When you purchase miles with your Spirit World MasterCard® credit card, you’ll earn an additional 2 points for every $1 spent.
The purchase appears to be coded as a Points.com transaction, meaning that if you purchase the miles with an American Express Premier Rewards Gold card, you will not earn the 3x the Membership Rewards Points you usually would on an airline-direct transaction.
Here’s a sampling of the points available for purchase:
- 1,000 points + 400 bonus for $26.88
- 20,000 points + 8,000 bonus for $537.50
- 60,000 points + 24,000 bonus for $1,612.50
