As my friend Rene at DeltaPoints reminded me yesterday, the Freddie Awards are fast approaching. For those that aren’t aware, the Freddie Awards are the “Emmy Awards” for travel, and it’s always worthwhile in attending – I had a blast last year in Seattle!
This year, the Freddie Awards will be hosted on April 30 at the Delta Museum in Atlanta, GA.
There are several options of where to stay nearby – the 2 best categories being with Hyatt and Starwood, which both have airport properties.
Starwood has two properties – the Westin and Sheraton, each at 3,000 Starpoints a night (or about $150 USD for you cash spenders).
I’ve stayed at the Westin before, and I thought it was a fine hotel. I’d stay there again no problem. Remember, if you stay 5 nights, you’ll get one free.
If you’re a Hyatt stayer, there are several properties, the closest being the Hyatt Place Atlanta Airport South, at 5,000 Gold Passport points a night, or $95.
Where will I be staying? I’m in the process of booking myself a stay at the Westin for 3,000 points a night. Will I see any of you there?

How do you get tickets to the Freddies? Also, will there be an FTU in Atlanta next spring?
