As the world watches the scenes unfolding in Ferguson, Missouri, there are 2 major impacts on aviation

No fly zone has been established over Ferguson, per the FAA

Flights into and out of St. Louis airport (STL) are being diverted and/or grounded

  • Flyers are reporting that the airport is “shutting down.”
  • Southwest 277 being diverted to Denver
  • Southwest 4019 being diverted (unknown where).
  • Frontier 284 being diverted to Denver
  • US Airways 484 being diverted to Denver
  • United Express 4672 & 3427 being diverted to Chicago
