Breaking News:
Last April was the death of the Vanilla reload – when consumers could no longer purchase Vanilla Reloads at their favorite pharmacy with a credit card, and then load that amount onto a corresponding American Express Serve or Bluebird. It was very difficult from this point forward to find stores that still carried the Vanilla PIN reload packs, and would also sell those packs to purchasers with a credit card.
Today, however, looks to be the end of that complete cycle as American Express announces that PIN Vanilla Reloads will no longer be available after April 1.
That said, it still looks as if you’ll be able to reload your Serve/Bluebird in-store via a swipe reload using a Vanilla Reload Swipe Load. If you’re able to purchase this with a credit card, you’ll be able to complete the transaction and full-circle loop.
