Hyatt recently announced their new lifestyle brand, Hyatt Centric. It’s their hotel brand that’s set to fit in somewhere between Hyatt Regency/Grand Hyatt hotels and their Andaz brand.
As Hyatt describes it, Hyatt Centric is meant to meat several defining characteristics:
- An authentic entryway to the destination
- A focus on simplicity, thoughtfully crafted
- A human touch in a digital world
15 hotels are set to open between now and this summer in major cities including New York, Atlanta, Santa Barbara and Paris, which will be welcome to both the pleasure and business traveler.
While I have suspicions as to what existing hotels may meat the new Hyatt Centric brand, Hyatt has already announced their first two properties, both set to open this April.
Hyatt Centric The Loop Chicago
This hotel will be located at Monroe and Clark Streets, and will be walking distance to Millennium Park, shopping on State Street and the theater district. The hotel will feature 257 rooms and 2,513 square feet of meeting space, making for a spacious facility. The hotel will also host Cochon Volan, a play on a French bistro, a full French bakery and a rooftop bar. Chicago has some great city-scape views, so I’m really looking forward to seeing what there is to see from this vantage point.

Hyatt Centric South Beach Miami
This hotel will be located on Collins Avenue, steps away from the beach and high-end shopping. At 10 stories, it will feature 105 rooms and 700 square feet of meeting space. This hotel will also play host to Deck 16, which is a Mediterranean restaurant. I’ll have more information on the Hyatt Centric South Beach Miami in an upcoming “first look” post as I take a look at specifics of where the property is located, what it is nearby (and what it is not), and how construction is coming along. Stay tuned for more information!
