American Airlines Admiral’s Clubs offer a selection of fresh-made sandwiches, salads, and snacks, available for purchase.
Review:
One of their specialty sandwiches is the “Grilled Chicken Hummus,” which is describes as “balsamic grilled chicken, grilled red peppers and onions, and hummus on a multi-grain roll.” I ordered my sandwich from the Admiral’s Club by the American Eagle gates at LAX Airport, and it was made in about 10 minutes.
The sandwich comes with a pickle, a side of carrots, as well as a choice of bag of chips, and for $9.99, is actually not a bad deal – and probably cheaper than some of the other airport venues.
The sandwich was offered cold or hot, and I chose the hot version, since they said it would be pressed in a panini maker, and that sounded pretty good. It was not soggy, and the bread held up nicely with all of the ingredients inside. The chicken was pre-cooked, but did not taste rubbery in the least.
Surprisingly, it was very filling, and I liked the side of hummus, which I used to dip the carrots into. Though there are drinks available for purchase, I chose to grab a cup of lemonade from the self serve drink dispenser nearby.
